Two days after the swearing-in of the Union Council of Ministers, the Press Information Bureau recorded that "Shri Ramnath Thakur and Shri Bhagirath Choudhary also took charge as Ministers of State" in the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, as Shivraj Singh Chouhan assumed charge as Cabinet Minister. It began his present term of office.
