Farm enterprise and public office

His horticulture work entered the parliamentary record in 2026. In a written Lok Sabha answer on 28 July 2026 (Unstarred Question 1399, Subsidies under NHB Schemes), the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare listed serving Ministers and MPs who had received financial assistance under National Horticulture Board schemes in the previous five years. It named him, as Minister of State and MP for Ajmer, in 2026, and stated that he "has communicated that he has refunded the subsidy to the bank concerned under the scheme", and that the bank had been directed to return the amount to the NHB. That answer was given by the other Minister of State, Ram Nath Thakur.

Media reports in June 2026 put the assistance at about ₹99 lakh for protected cultivation of cucumbers, and reported his statement that he had applied in 2018 with full disclosure, before becoming a Minister. In August 2026 media reported that scheme rules had been amended to exclude Ministers, MPs and MLAs from such benefits.
